GVC are delighted to be supporting a well-established independent small animal practice in the Poole, Dorset area as they look to recruit a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join their friendly and growing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an RVN with at least a couple of years’ experience who enjoys building strong client relationships, delivering exceptional patient care, and working collaboratively within a close-knit team. With exciting developments planned, including the addition of a dedicated nurse consultation room later this year, it’s an excellent time to join the practice.

The Role
This is a full-time permanent position working 40 hours per week over five days, with shifts scheduled between 8:00am and 6:15pm.
The weekend commitment is just 1 in 3 Saturdays (8:00am–12:00pm), helping to maintain an excellent work-life balance.
You’ll be joining a supportive clinical team currently consisting of:
- 2 full-time equivalent Veterinary Surgeons
- Head Registered Veterinary Nurse
- Student Veterinary Nurse nearing qualification
The practice currently has two consulting rooms, with plans to introduce a dedicated nurse consultation room, creating even more opportunities for nurses to utilise and develop their clinical skills.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Deliver outstanding nursing care to medical and surgical patients.
- Support consultations, diagnostics, and theatre procedures.
- Build lasting relationships with clients through excellent communication.
- Assist with inpatient care, anaesthesia, and nurse-led appointments.
- Work collaboratively as part of a friendly and supportive team.
- Contribute to maintaining high clinical standards throughout the practice.
What We’re Looking For
- Registered Veterinary Nurse (RCVS).
- Ideally at least 2 years’ post-qualification experience.
- Passionate about providing exceptional patient and client care.
- A positive team player who enjoys supporting colleagues.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Enthusiastic, compassionate, and motivated to make a real difference.
