Registered Veterinary Nurse

We are looking for a confident and proactive Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join a small, friendly, practice in West Sussex.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a community-focused environment, delivering high standards of clinical and client care while being part of a supportive, collaborative team.

Role Overview

As an RVN, you will be accountable for the clinical delivery of nurse-led appointments and supporting the vet during procedures. You will play a key role in ensuring exceptional care for patients, clients, and colleagues while maintaining the highest levels of regulatory and operational standards.

  • Permanent full-time role: 40 hours per week

  • Participation in a 1 in 6 full weekends

  • Two weeks of out-of-hours (OOH) duty annually


Key Responsibilities

Patient Care:

  • Support vets with procedures and operations

  • Carry out nurse-led appointments

  • Monitor and care for patients before, during, and after procedures

  • Manage admissions, discharges, and patient transfers

  • Dispense and check medication as required

Client Care:

  • Deliver exceptional client care every day

  • Provide clear updates and guidance to clients

Standards & Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and practice standards

  • Maintain health and safety requirements

Clinical Administration & Commercial Performance:

  • Take and package lab samples

  • Manage stock efficiently, including rotation and expiry

  • Maximise nurse-led appointments to enhance patient care and clinic capacity

  • Hold daily briefings and coordinate team activity


Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse

  • Confident delivering all aspects of general practice nursing

  • Works effectively as part of a team

  • Supports nurse consults and understands their impact on clinic performance

  • Skilled in coaching and influencing colleagues to achieve their best

  • Committed to delivering exceptional patient and client care
