Registered Veterinary Nurse – Modern Facilities + Varied Caseload – Portsmouth – From £30,000

A friendly, forward-thinking small animal practice in Portsmouth is looking to welcome an RVN to join their supportive nursing team. They’re passionate about high standards, great client care, and giving nurses the chance to really use their skills.

About the practice

This is a purpose-built small animal site with a varied caseload and a genuine focus on investing in clinical standards and equipment. They’re also planning further expansion, with an Intensive Care Unit due to be added soon.

Equipment/clinical set-up includes:

• High-spec GE Vivid iq ultrasound (cardiac + abdominal ultrasound)
• Multi-parameter GA monitoring + capnography
• In-house Idexx lab, ECG, K-Laser
• Digital X-ray including dental
• Endoscope, Tonopen, BP monitors
• Infusion pumps, syringe driver, Bair Hugger
• Fully equipped theatre + dedicated dog, cat and isolation wards

The role

• Full-time RVN (part-time considered)
• 40 hours/week
• 1 in 4 Saturdays on a fair rota
• Proper hands-on nursing across a varied caseload, including:
  • Theatre and inpatient care
  • Radiography + dental procedures
  • Nurse-led clinics and general nursing duties

What they’re looking for

• An RVN who’s passionate about patient care and animal welfare
• Friendly, down-to-earth, and a strong team player
• Someone keen to develop — Clinical Coach qualification (or willingness to train) would be ideal
• Confident supporting clients with empathy and great communication
