We’re looking for a dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join a large, privately-owned veterinary group with 8 branches across North East England. Our team prides itself on delivering excellent customer service and providing our own out-of-hours support, while supporting our busy veterinary surgeons and reception staff.


The Role

  • 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday (ideally over 4 long days with a fixed day off)

  • Support our Veterinary Surgeons, SVN’s, and Auxiliary Nurses in day-to-day clinical care

  • Weekend and Bank Holiday shifts on a shared rota, paid at time and a half:

    • Saturday morning @ branch 1:4

    • Saturday 8am–8pm @ our 24-hour hospital, approx. 1:16 (3–4 shifts/year)

    • Sunday 8am–8pm @ our 24-hour hospital, approx. 1:16 (3–4 shifts/year)

    • Additional weekend cover as required, approx. 1:16 (3–4 shifts/year)

  • Night shifts on a shared rota at our 24-hour hospital with time in lieu:

    • Monday night 7:30pm–8am, approx. 3 per year

    • Weekend nights 7:30pm–8am (Friday–Sunday) with 6 days off in lieu, approx. 3 per year

  • RVNs are usually assigned a regular branch but may be required to work across branches to cover the rota

  • All out-of-hours/weekend/bank holiday/night shifts are at our 24-hour hospital


About You

  • Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)

  • Passionate about supporting clinical excellence and providing high-quality care

  • Flexible and able to work across multiple branches as needed

  • Eager to engage in internal and external CPD


Salary & Benefits

  • Starting salary £25,200 for newly qualified RVNs

  • 4 weeks annual leave pro rata, plus an additional day off for your birthday (after 6 months)
