Looking for a veterinary nursing role that genuinely rewards your experience and gives you the chance to grow? This opportunity offers a salary of up to £45,000, bonus potential, exceptional clinical exposure, and a lifestyle change that’s hard to match.
GVC is supporting a progressive small animal practice in Guernsey looking to add an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to its growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an RVN who wants to work in a supportive environment where nurses are truly valued, encouraged to develop their interests, and given real autonomy within practice.
Why This Role Stands Out
- Salary from £35,000–£45,000 depending on experience
- Annual bonus of up to 10%
- Guernsey’s 20% flat tax rate with no National Insurance contributions
- Relocation support available
- Private health insurance
- Professional fees fully paid
- £2,500 CPD allowance with support for further development
- Gym membership subsidy
- Excellent work-life balance in a stunning island setting
With Guernsey’s favourable tax system, a £45,000 salary can offer a similar take-home pay to earning £63,000+ in the UK.
The Role
This is far more than a standard nursing role. You’ll be joining a collaborative and supportive team where your ideas, clinical input, and professional development are encouraged.
Duties will include:
- Providing high-quality nursing care across all areas of the practice
- Anaesthesia monitoring and patient recovery
- Surgical and theatre support
- Inpatient and medical nursing care
- Nurse consultations and client education
- Supporting and mentoring student nurses and support staff
- Assisting with nursing protocols and clinical standards
- Participation in a fairly shared and well-compensated OOH rota
The practice actively encourages nurses to pursue areas of interest, whether that’s anaesthesia, dentistry, rehabilitation, inpatient care, or leadership development.
About You
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a qualified RVN with solid clinical experience
- Enjoy working collaboratively within a team environment
- Be confident, proactive, and organised
- Have excellent communication skills
- Want to contribute ideas and help shape the future of the practice
- Value kindness, teamwork, and high clinical standards
The Lifestyle
Guernsey offers an incredible quality of life with beautiful beaches, short commutes, outdoor living, and a strong sense of community. This is a rare opportunity to combine career progression with genuine work-life balance.
If you’re an experienced RVN looking for something different — professionally and personally this could be the perfect next step.
