Registered Veterinary Nurse – 4-Day Week | East London

£32,000–£39,000 DOE | Full-time | 4-day week | 1 in 8 weekends

Are you a Registered Veterinary Nurse looking for a role where you can make full use of your clinical skills, have time to provide great patient care and still enjoy a healthy work-life balance?

An exciting opportunity has become available for an RVN to join a growing small animal practice in Hackney, East London.

The nursing team currently consists of 8 nurses, with plans to welcome two additional RVNs. You’ll join a collaborative team where nurses are encouraged to develop their skills, take ownership of their role and play an important part in the wider clinical team.

The Role

As an RVN, you’ll be empowered to work to the full extent of your professional capabilities, with a varied role covering:

  • Clinical nursing, including Schedule 3 responsibilities
  • Nurse consultations
  • Theatre and surgical nursing
  • Ward-based nursing and patient care
  • Supporting vets across a varied small animal caseload
  • Providing advice and guidance to clients
  • Working collaboratively with the wider veterinary team
  • Helping deliver a smooth and positive experience for both pets and their owners

The practice is purpose-built with a modern clinical environment designed around both patient care and the needs of the veterinary team. Technology is also used throughout the practice to help reduce administration and provide additional support to the clinical team.

About You

You’ll be a qualified RVN with strong clinical and communication skills who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.

You’ll ideally be:

  • Confident across a range of clinical nursing duties
  • Organised, calm and proactive
  • Comfortable working independently while contributing to a wider team
  • Passionate about delivering excellent patient and client care
  • Keen to continue developing your clinical skills
  • Interested in how technology and digital innovation can improve veterinary care

You don’t need to fit a particular mould. The team is looking for someone who wants to be part of a supportive environment that is doing things differently and putting both people and pets at the heart of veterinary care.

Working Pattern & Benefits

  • £32,000–£39,000 per year, depending on experience, knowledge and skills
  • 4-day working week
  • 1 in 8 weekends
  • Unlimited CPD budget
  • In-clinic CPD evenings
  • Career development and progression opportunities
  • Equity within the business
  • Paid lunch breaks
  • Free lunch and snacks
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Mental health first aiders
  • Free veterinary care for your own pets
  • Cost-price medications and laboratory fees
  • Supportive onboarding and training
  • Modern, purpose-built clinic environment

A Different Approach to Veterinary Care

The practice has been built around the idea that when veterinary teams are well supported, pets receive better care.

Structured schedules provide time to catch your breath, while a dedicated digital care team provides an additional layer of support for your patients. The aim is to give veterinary professionals the time and resources they need to build strong relationships with clients and deliver genuinely personalised care.

You’ll be joining a growing organisation with a strong focus on team wellbeing, professional development, technology and improving the client and patient experience.

Location

The role is based in East London, with the clinic conveniently located for local transport links and surrounding areas.
