Registered Veterinary Nurse – South East London – Newly Qualified Nurses Welcomed – 1:4 Saturdays 

Are you a Registered Veterinary Nurse looking for a rewarding role within a supportive and progressive Small Animal practice in South East London? This is an exciting opportunity to join a welcoming and busy veterinary team offering hands-on nursing, advanced nurse clinics and excellent clinical exposure, with a welcome bonus available.

The Role

This full-time Registered Veterinary Nurse position is based within a busy Small Animal practice with a loyal and well-insured client base.

The successful RVN will enjoy a varied and rewarding caseload, working closely alongside experienced veterinary colleagues and a dedicated support team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting Veterinary Surgeons during consultations and surgical procedures
  • Performing Schedule 3 procedures including injections, medications, fluid therapy and first aid as directed
  • Assisting with anaesthesia and post-operative patient care
  • Taking radiographs and supporting diagnostic procedures
  • Running nurse-led clinics and providing client advice
  • Delivering excellent inpatient and intensive nursing care, including pain scoring and enrichment plans
  • Dispensing medications in accordance with professional and practice guidelines
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date clinical records
  • Supporting the day-to-day running and ongoing development of the practice

The practice benefits from a highly skilled clinical team, including certificate holders and vets with interests in ophthalmology, imaging and exotics. A wide range of procedures are carried out on site, including orthopaedics and soft tissue surgery, providing excellent exposure and learning opportunities for nursing team members.

A dedicated reception team manages front-of-house responsibilities, allowing nurses to focus on delivering high-quality clinical and patient care while still building strong client relationships through consultations and nurse clinics.

Working pattern:

  • Full-time position
  • 1 in 4 Saturdays (9am–6pm)
  • No out-of-hours requirements

About You

Applications are welcomed from experienced Registered Veterinary Nurses as well as confident newly qualified RVNs.

The ideal candidate will enjoy all aspects of veterinary nursing and take pride in delivering outstanding patient and client care. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential, alongside a proactive and collaborative approach to working within a team.

This role would suit an RVN looking to develop their nursing skills within a supportive and clinically diverse Small Animal practice.
