Senior Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) – Fulham, London

Salary: £35,000–£39,000 DOE | Full-Time | No On-Call | Excellent Benefits

Are you an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse looking to take the next step into a senior role? This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy, well-established small animal practice in South West London, where you'll play a key role in leading the nursing team, mentoring future talent and delivering exceptional patient care.

The Role

As the Senior Registered Veterinary Nurse, you'll lead by example, supporting both your colleagues and patients while helping to create a positive, efficient working environment.

Working alongside an experienced Veterinary Surgeon, you'll mentor two Student Veterinary Nurses, oversee the day-to-day nursing function and ensure the highest standards of clinical care are maintained throughout the practice.

This is an ideal opportunity for an RVN who enjoys leadership, coaching others and using their full range of nursing skills in a supportive practice.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and supporting the nursing team
• Mentoring and supervising Student Veterinary Nurses
• Assisting with consultations, surgical procedures and anaesthesia
• Delivering exceptional inpatient nursing and patient care
• Making full use of Schedule 3 nursing skills
• Managing clinical standards, equipment maintenance and controlled drug audits
• Supporting the smooth running of reception and ensuring excellent client service
• Building strong relationships with clients and their pets

This modern, recently refurbished small animal practice is fully equipped with:

• Two spacious consulting rooms
• Dedicated prep and theatre area
• In-house laboratory
• Modern diagnostic equipment
• Comfortable staff break facilities

The practice has built a loyal client base and is supported by a leading 24-hour veterinary hospital for complex referrals and out-of-hours care, giving the team excellent clinical support whenever needed.

Working Pattern

• Full-time – 40 hours per week
• 1 in 4 Saturdays at the branch practice
• 1 in 10 Saturdays at the supporting hospital
• One bank holiday per year
• No on-call requirements

About You

You'll be a confident and experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys supporting others while maintaining exceptional clinical standards.

You'll ideally have:

• RCVS registration
• Previous experience within a busy small animal practice
• Leadership or mentoring experience (or a desire to develop these skills)
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A genuine passion for patient and client care
• Confidence working collaboratively within a close-knit team

Salary & Benefits

Salary: £35,000–£39,000 depending on experience.
