Take your nursing career to the next level without leaving the clinical floor.

If you're an experienced veterinary nurse who loves the clinical side of nursing but is ready for more responsibility, this could be the perfect next step.

We're recruiting on behalf of one of Queensland's leading animal welfare organisations for a Senior Veterinary Nurse to join their busy Domestic Hospital in Wacol.

This is a hands-on clinical role where you'll work alongside an experienced veterinary team, support complex medical and surgical cases, mentor junior nurses and help deliver exceptional patient care every day.

If you enjoy challenging cases, thrive in a fast-paced hospital environment and want to make a genuine difference, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

You'll play a key role in supporting the clinical team while remaining hands-on with patient care.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Medical, surgical and emergency nursing.
  • Monitoring anaesthesia and supporting surgical procedures.
  • Nursing hospital and critical care patients.
  • Assisting with diagnostics and emergency triage.
  • Supporting veterinarians with complex medical cases.
  • Mentoring junior veterinary nurses and trainees.
  • Maintaining high clinical standards across the hospital.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider veterinary and animal care teams.

About You

You're passionate about nursing and enjoy being the person others turn to for support and guidance.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent).
  • Strong medical and surgical nursing experience.
  • Confidence with anaesthesia monitoring and patient care.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A collaborative, positive approach.
  • A genuine passion for animal welfare.

Why You'll Love It

  • Full-time opportunity (part-time considered for the right candidate).
  • Diverse medical, surgical and emergency caseload.
  • Opportunity to mentor and support junior nurses.
  • Ongoing professional development.
  • Supportive leadership team.
  • Flexible working arrangements.
  • Paid parental leave and study leave.
  • Employee wellbeing support.
  • Staff discounts and additional employee benefits.
  • Career progression within one of Queensland's leading animal welfare organisations.
