Senior Veterinary Surgeon – North East England

An excellent opportunity for an experienced or confident post-graduate Small Animal Vet Surgeon ready to take the next step into a senior role within a supportive, well-equipped practice in the North East of England. This position offers strong clinical autonomy, leadership development, and an excellent work–life balance with no out-of-hours.

The Role

• Senior Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon position

• Varied companion animal caseload, with some exotics for those interested

• 15-minute consultations

• Average 34 hours per week

• 4-day working week

• 1 in 4 Saturday mornings (2.5-hour consult-only shift)

• 1 in 4 working days spent locally on the road as part of a homecare vet/nurse team

• No late nights, no OOH, no bank holidays

• Excellent facilities including comprehensive diagnostics and in-house laboratory

• Close links with a nearby referral hospital

About You

You’ll be a RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon, ideally with a few years’ UK experience (circa 2019–2022 graduate level or equivalent). An interest in leadership is welcomed but not essential, with training and development fully supported. A collaborative mindset, strong work ethic, and a positive attitude are key.
