Veterinary Surgeon with a Surgical Cert AVP – South Yorkshire

Full-time • £100,000 DOE • Relocation package available

We are assisting a well-established 24-hour veterinary hospital in South Yorkshire, who are looking for an Advanced Practitioner in Surgery to join their talented and supportive clinical team. You will be supported by senior colleagues alongside skilled veterinary and nursing teams.

The facility is purpose-built and equipped with:

  • 3 large consulting rooms and 2 theatres

  • Large prep area and in-house laboratory

  • Up-to-date digital x-ray, ultrasound, and full-body CT scanner

  • Spacious learning and office areas


Role Overview

This role offers the opportunity to lead the veterinary team and deliver exceptional patient care. Your clinical expertise, leadership skills, and passion for animal welfare will contribute significantly to the continued success of the practice and your professional growth.

  • Full-time: 4 weekdays per week + 1 in 6 weekend rota

  • Relocation support available 


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional clinical care in consultations and procedures

  • Provide clear, compassionate updates to clients

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the veterinary team

  • Inspire your team and share best practice

  • Work with the Practice Manager to optimise clinic performance

  • Support nurse consults and schedule 3 procedures


Skills & Experience Required

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon with CertAVP in Surgery

  • Ability to perform TPLO/TTAs (or equivalent), spinals, fracture repair, and complex soft tissue procedures (e.g., perineal urethrostomy, TECA, BOAS, thoracotomy)

  • Experienced in providing exceptional care to patients and clients

  • Proven clinical leadership skills and ability to foster a progressive clinical culture

  • Skilled in mentoring colleagues, coaching, and influencing team performance
