Veterinary Surgeon – Worthing

£45,000–£65,000 DOE | 4-Day Week | Branch & Cat-Only Work | 50:50 split between two branches!

Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking for a new opportunity in Worthing? This role offers the chance to work across two local branches, including half your week spent at their cat-only practice, while enjoying a structured 4-day working week.

With a strong focus on clinical development, teamwork and high standards of patient care, this could be a great opportunity for an experienced GP Vet looking for variety in their caseload while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

The Role

As a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon, you will work across two branches in the Worthing area, with the opportunity to spend part of your working week at a dedicated cat-only practice.

This provides an interesting mix of general small animal practice and feline-focused work, making the role particularly appealing to a Vet who enjoys variety or has a specific interest in feline medicine and care.

The role would suit an experienced all-rounder who is confident with routine procedures, consultations and dentistry, as well as working sole charge when required.

You will have the opportunity to develop your clinical interests, with support available for further training and certificates.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing high-quality clinical care to small animal patients
  • Working across two local branches, including a dedicated cat-only practice
  • Consulting with clients and managing a varied first-opinion caseload
  • Carrying out routine surgical procedures and dental work
  • Working confidently in sole-charge situations
  • Supporting feline patients within a dedicated cat-only environment
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider veterinary team
  • Continuing to develop your clinical skills and areas of interest

About You

We are looking for an experienced MRCVS with at least 3 years’ UK small animal general practice experience.

You should be confident working as an all-round GP Vet and comfortable with routine procedures, dentistry and sole-charge work.

An interest in feline medicine would be welcomed, although previous experience in a cat-only practice is not essential.

You will ideally have a genuine interest in developing your clinical skills and may hold, or be working towards, a certificate or area of clinical interest.

Most importantly, you will be a team player with excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to both patients and clients.

Why Apply?

  • £45,000–£65,000 salary, depending on experience, certificates and clinical interests
  • 4-day working week
  • Opportunity to work across two local branches
  • Part of the role based within a dedicated cat-only practice
  • Varied small animal and feline caseload
  • 40-hour week with a 1-hour lunch break
  • 2 days off following weekends worked
  • Weekend rota of approximately 1 in 6
  • Generous annual leave
  • Support for CPD and ongoing professional development
  • Opportunities to work towards further certificates
  • Pension and additional employee benefits
  • Supportive working environment with a strong focus on wellbeing
  • Staff discounts and other benefits
