Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking for real progression, clinical freedom, and the support of a friendly, award-winning independent practice? This well-established small animal team in West Sussex is seeking a confident vet (2.5+ years’ UK experience) who wants to grow, lead, and genuinely enjoy their career again.

The Role

• First‑opinion small animal work with true clinical freedom
• Funded and fully supported certificate (orthopaedics encouraged)
• Mentoring opportunities for developing vets

• Varied shifts: 11–8, 8–5, 11–7, 10–6
• A practice that likes to keep cases in-house where possible

Out-of-Hours – Clear, Fair & Fully Supported

This practice provides its own in-house OOH service, designed for manageable workloads and excellent continuity.

• 1 in 3 weekends affected
• 1 in 6 full weekends (with Monday off afterwards)
• 1 fixed night on call per week
• Nurse always on site
• Phones triaged by the vet first
• Predictable, well-supported rota
• Annual OOH bonus

This model lets you develop valuable emergency skills without the pressures seen in outsourced OOH setups.

Who We’re Looking For

• RCVS registered with 2.5+ years’ UK experience
• Confident with first-opinion cases and routine surgery

• Interested in developing into a senior or lead vet role
• Orthopaedic interest welcome but not essential
