Salary: £50,000 – £65,000 FTE (dependent on experience)
Hours: 8 or 10-hour shifts, flexible; 1 in 6 Saturdays
About the Role:
Global Vet Careers is recruiting an experienced Veterinary Surgeon for a growing, independent small animal practice with a supportive, staff-focused culture. The practice provides gold-standard care for both cats and dogs, with dedicated overnight inpatient facilities and a team committed to delivering high-quality care.
Shifts are designed for efficiency and wellbeing, including protected admin time, and consults are carefully timed: 15 minutes for routine cases, 30 minutes for complex cases, and 1 hour for euthanasia appointments. Communication with clients is supported through digital tools, allowing for smooth day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality veterinary care for small animals.

Support the practice’s growing team and mentor junior staff where appropriate.

Participate in shared Saturday and overnight care (1 in 6 Saturdays, overnight inpatient support).

Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues to provide exceptional patient care.
Requirements:

Veterinary degree registerable with the RCVS.

Experienced in general small animal practice medicine and surgery.

Strong team player with excellent communication skills.

Passionate about providing excellent patient care in a supportive environment.
