Veterinary Surgeon – East Lancashire – Salary up to £60,000 DOE

Join a long-established, independent-feel VetPartners practice in the heart of East Lancashire. With a main hospital in Colne and branches in Barnoldswick and Burnley, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to take on a varied caseload, with excellent scope to develop your surgical or orthopaedic interests.
 

About the Role

We’re looking for a confident and capable vet with at least 5 years’ experience to join our friendly and progressive team. This is ideally a full-time position, but we’re open to discussing flexible working options for the right candidate.

You’ll handle a wide and varied first-opinion caseload, supported by a skilled team of vets and nurses. The role offers autonomy to develop clinical areas of interest and contribute to the continued growth of the practice’s high-quality service offering.

Rota:

• 5-day week

• 1.5 weekends in 8

• 1 night on-call every 2 weeks

• Time off in lieu:

  • Monday/Tuesday off after a weekend

  • Friday off after a Saturday

  • Following day off after a weeknight on-call

• On-site accommodation available (private flat with shower and TV facilities).
   

About the Practice

• Well-equipped facilities including:

  • Digital X-ray, ultrasound, flexible & rigid endoscopy

  • Two surgical theatres with multiparameter monitors

  • Dental suite with dental X-ray

  • In-house laboratory

  • Separate canine and feline wards, and a bereavement room.

• 24-hour inpatient care with three dedicated night RVNs (two ECC certificate holders).

• Collaborative team including certificate holders in medicine, dentistry, and ECC, plus nurses with advanced qualifications in anaesthesia, feline medicine, dentistry, and physiotherapy.

• Regular support from visiting specialists in ultrasound and cardiology.

Benefits

• Salary: £40,000 – £60,000 DOE
