Global Veterinary Careers is partnering with a well‑established veterinary hospital in Albany, CA that is seeking a full‑time Veterinarian / Medical Director to provide clinical leadership and help shape the veterinary care delivered at the practice. This role is ideal for a veterinarian with strong medical skills and an interest in leadership, team development, and practice growth.
As a Medical Director, you will split your time between practicing medicine and leading the clinical team. You’ll be responsible for setting clinical standards, mentoring associates and support staff, and enhancing the quality of patient care. This position requires a leader who can balance hands‑on veterinary medicine with leadership responsibilities in a collaborative, team‑driven environment.

The Role
As the Medical Director / Veterinarian you will:
· Provide high‑quality veterinary care across a variety of medical cases
· Serve as the clinical leader and mentor for associate veterinarians and staff
· Assist in establishing and maintaining clinical protocols and best practices
· Participate in case discussion and clinical decision‑making with the team
· Model high standards of care and client communication

To be considered for this position, you must have the following:
· DVM/VMD degree or equivalent from an AVMA accredited university
· Active veterinary license (or ability to obtain)
· DEA and state controlled substance registrations (or ability to obtain)
· Strong clinical background and leadership experience preferred
· Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and team leadership skills
