Veterinarian

Melbourne North-West, VIC

Looking for a veterinary role that offers flexibility, support, modern facilities, and genuine work-life balance?

An exciting opportunity is available for a Small Animal Veterinarian to join a well-established and highly respected companion animal practice located in Melbourne's thriving north-west growth corridor.

Established for more than 50 years, this clinic has built an outstanding reputation within the local community by providing exceptional patient care, embracing preventative medicine, and fostering long-term relationships with clients and their pets.

The clinic is equipped with modern diagnostic and surgical facilities, allowing veterinarians to practice high-quality medicine while being supported by an experienced and collaborative team.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinarian to join the team on either a permanent part-time or full-time basis.

You will work alongside an experienced Lead Veterinarian and a team of skilled and supportive veterinary nurses who are passionate about delivering excellent patient care and creating a positive workplace culture.

This is a clinic where teamwork genuinely matters. Professional development is encouraged, support is always available, and work-life balance is considered an essential part of long-term career satisfaction.

Flexible Rostering

One of the standout features of this opportunity is the flexibility available.

The roster can be tailored to suit your lifestyle and personal commitments, including options such as:

  • Four longer days each week with a regular three-day weekend
  • Five shorter working days
  • Permanent part-time arrangements
  • Full-time employment

The clinic understands that every veterinarian's ideal schedule is different and is committed to finding a roster that works for both the successful candidate and the team.

The role includes participation in a rotating Saturday roster.

Routine Saturday consults are supported by established protocols, with emergency and after-hours cases referred externally. While Saturdays may involve sole-charge responsibilities, support and guidance are readily available when required.

Modern Facilities & Equipment

The clinic offers access to excellent facilities, including:

  • Full in-house laboratory capabilities
  • Digital radiography
  • Ultrasound
  • Dedicated surgical suite
  • Comprehensive dental facilities
  • Modern consulting rooms and treatment areas

These resources enable veterinarians to practice high-quality medicine while maintaining excellent standards of patient care.

About You

We are interested in speaking with veterinarians who are:

  • Qualified with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent)
  • Registered, or eligible for registration, with the Victorian Veterinary Practitioners Registration Board
  • Ideally have at least 12 months of clinical experience, although exceptional recent graduates will also be considered
  • Strong communicators who enjoy building relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Compassionate, professional, and committed to patient care
  • Organised, proactive, and able to work collaboratively within a team environment

What's On Offer?

  • Competitive salary package commensurate with experience
  • Permanent part-time or full-time employment options
  • Flexible rostering arrangements
  • Potential visa sponsorship and relocation assistance for eligible candidates
  • Annual CPD allowance of $1,500 plus one week of paid study leave (pro-rata)
  • Access to online learning and professional development resources
  • Paid veterinary registration and radiation licence
  • Paid VIN membership
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Mental health and wellbeing support initiatives
  • Novated vehicle leasing options
  • Team member referral bonuses
  • Access to a broad professional support network
  • Long-term career progression opportunities
  • Fitness Passport membership benefits
  • Participation in a unique bonus and reward program
