Our client is seeking an experienced Certificate IV Veterinary Nurse to join their modern and progressive small animal practice in Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs.

The Role

This full-time position offers a varied and rewarding caseload across medical, surgical and dental nursing.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting veterinarians during consultations and procedures
  • Anaesthetic monitoring and peri-operative patient care
  • Medical and surgical nursing
  • Dental nursing
  • Intravenous catheter placement and fluid therapy
  • Blood collection and laboratory procedures
  • Diagnostic imaging assistance, including radiography
  • Hospital patient monitoring
  • Client education and treatment plan discussions

Veterinary nurses are encouraged to take ownership of patient care, work collaboratively with the veterinary team and contribute ideas that enhance clinical standards and practice efficiency.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally possess:

  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a small animal practice
  • Confidence across medical, surgical and hospital nursing
  • Excellent communication and client service skills
  • Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
  • A proactive approach with a genuine desire to continue learning and developing professionally
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment

An interest in areas such as stock management, workflow improvement or practice development will be well supported.
