Our client is seeking an experienced Certificate IV Veterinary Nurse to join their friendly and supportive small animal practice located in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges.

This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinary nurse looking for a varied clinical role within a well-established practice that genuinely values teamwork, high-quality patient care and ongoing professional development.

About the Practice

Our client is a modern, independently owned small animal practice with a strong reputation for delivering compassionate, high-quality veterinary care.

Supported by an experienced team of veterinarians and veterinary nurses, the practice provides a broad range of medical and surgical services and works closely with visiting specialist surgeons to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.

The clinic is also actively involved in supporting local animal rescue organisations and prides itself on maintaining a collaborative, welcoming and positive workplace culture.

The Role

This permanent part-time position offers approximately 2–3 days per week, providing a varied mix of clinical and client-facing responsibilities.

Duties include:

  • Reception and client care
  • Hospital nursing and inpatient monitoring
  • Nurse consultations
  • Surgical nursing and anaesthetic monitoring
  • Assisting veterinarians with medical and surgical procedures
  • Maintaining high clinical and patient care standards

Working hours include:

  • Weekday shifts (8:30am – 6:00pm)
  • Shared occasional Saturday mornings (8:30am – 12:00pm)

About You

The successful candidate will ideally possess:

  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
  • Previous experience in a small animal veterinary practice
  • Confidence across all areas of veterinary nursing, including surgery, hospital, reception and nurse consultations
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • A genuine passion for delivering exceptional patient care and customer service
