An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a thriving, well-established first opinion practice in the heart of Essex.
This busy and highly regarded clinic offers an excellent and varied caseload, making it the ideal environment for a vet looking to further develop both medical and surgical expertise within a supportive and experienced team.
The Role
This practice sees a diverse range of routine and more complex GP cases, so the successful candidate will be confident with routine consultations and surgery and enjoy working in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Alongside all the essentials of a modern first opinion practice, the clinic is also equipped with ultrasound and K-Laser facilities, allowing for a high standard of patient care and clinical work-up.
You’ll be joining an experienced and collaborative team including skilled RVNs, dedicated support staff and an experienced senior vet, with additional support available from regional management and clinical leadership teams.
Flexible Working Options
There is flexibility built into this role, with options including:
- One full-time vet working a 4-day week
or - Two part-time vets sharing the position
This setup means there is only one full day of sole charge required.
The rota includes:
- 1:4 Saturday rotation
- 1:8 Sunday rotation at the nearby hospital
- 1–2 bank holidays per year
- Inclusion in the last-resort on-call rota
As part of the induction process, you’ll also have the opportunity to spend time within the hospital setting to meet the wider team and become familiar with the facilities and support network available.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality consultations and evidence-based treatment plans
- Perform routine GP surgical procedures confidently and competently
- Maintain accurate and detailed clinical records
- Prescribe and dispense medications in line with current legislation and RCVS guidance
- Refer cases appropriately when required
- Contribute positively to a supportive and collaborative team culture
Salary & Benefits
- Salary ranging from £45,000 – £72,000 FTE depending on experience
