Up to £65,000 DOE | Full-Time | Exotic Caseload | Danbury, Essex

Are you a Veterinary Surgeon looking for a varied small animal role with the opportunity to develop your experience with exotic patients?

This established practice in Danbury, Essex offers a supportive working environment, modern facilities and a diverse caseload, with opportunities for clinical development and mentorship.

Located just outside Chelmsford, the practice also offers excellent transport links into London, giving you access to the city without the cost of living in the capital.

The Role

As a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon, you will manage a varied first-opinion caseload across consultations and surgery, with the added opportunity to see a range of exotic patients.

The role would suit a Vet with at least 2 years' clinical experience who is looking for a supportive practice where they can continue developing their skills.

You don't need to be an exotic specialist — mentorship and support are available for Vets who are keen to build their confidence and experience in this area.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing high-quality clinical care across consultations and surgery
  • Managing a varied small animal caseload
  • Working with a range of exotic patients
  • Developing appropriate treatment plans alongside clients
  • Carrying out routine surgical procedures
  • Working collaboratively with experienced Vets, RVNs and support staff
  • Contributing to a positive and supportive clinical environment
  • Continuing to develop your clinical skills and areas of interest

About You

You will be a qualified MRCVS with at least 2 years' clinical experience, ideally within small animal general practice.

You should be confident managing a varied caseload and have a genuine interest in providing excellent patient and client care.

An interest in exotic medicine would be particularly welcomed, although extensive exotic experience is not essential as support and mentorship are available.

We're looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, communicates well and is keen to continue developing their clinical skills.

Why Apply?

  • Up to £65,000 salary, depending on experience
  • Full-time permanent position
  • Opportunity to develop experience with an exotic caseload
  • Support and mentorship for clinical development
  • Modern, recently refurbished practice
  • Varied and interesting first-opinion caseload
  • Support for CPD and further qualifications
  • Professional fees and relevant memberships supported
  • Good work-life balance
  • 1 in 3 Saturday rota
  • Minimal on-call requirements
  • Light Bank Holiday rota, with time off in lieu
  • Excellent transport links towards London
  • Relocation and visa support may be available
