Love surgery but don’t want the pressure of sole charge or KPIs?
Keen to develop your surgical skills while being surrounded by genuinely experienced vets?

A client we are representing is seeking a small animal Veterinarian to join their independently owned hospital in Sunnybank.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a surgery-focused role (70% surgery / 30% consults) within a highly skilled and supportive team — without needing to be the “main surgeon”.

About the Role

• 70% surgery / 30% consulting
• High surgical caseload across routine and more complex procedures
• Never sole charge — 3–4 vets rostered at all times
• Work alongside experienced vets including ultrasonographers and an exotics vet
• Opportunity to learn orthopaedic surgery for the right candidate

Why This Role Stands Out

• Supportive, close-knit independent team
• No KPIs — they trust vets who understand their value
• Strong surgical exposure without the pressure of leading every case
• Uncapped CPD + ongoing surgical development
• Opportunity to work with a highly skilled, collaborative team

Facilities & Equipment

• Two surgical theatres
• Endoscopy unit
• Ultrasound (with two highly experienced ultrasonographers)
• Orthopaedic equipment + training opportunities
• In-house diagnostics and strong clinical support team

Roster (Open to full or part time)

Clinic hours:
Mon–Thu: 8am–7pm
Fri: 8am–6pm
Sat: 8am–5pm

• 2 in 4 Saturdays required

Salary

• $130,000 – $180,000 + super (DOE)
• Higher packages considered for advanced surgical experience
Uncapped CPD allowance

About You

• BVSc (or equivalent) and eligible to practice in Australia
• Full working rights in Australia
• Strong surgical interest and capability
• Keen to continue developing surgical skills (orthopaedics exposure available)
• Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset

If you’re looking for a role where you can immerse yourself in surgery, develop your skills, and feel genuinely supported — without corporate pressure — this is well worth exploring.
