Veterinary Surgeon
East Sussex

GVC are assisting an established veterinary group in East Sussex with the recruitment of an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their team, working across their branch and Brighton Hospital.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident vet looking for the best of both world, the autonomy and client relationships of a community-based practice, combined with the facilities, expertise and support of a large hospital environment.

The Role

The position is full-time, with flexible working options considered, and will be split between the one of the branches and Brighton Hospital.

At the clinic, you’ll enjoy a varied first opinion caseload, including consulting and routine surgery, working in sole charge with the support of 2 RVNs and a receptionist. You’ll have the reassurance of being part of a much larger clinical team, with access to the Brighton Hospital whenever additional support or expertise is required.

You will also benefit from:

• Every other Saturday morning
• A 1:15 second on-call rota supporting the night and weekend team

The Team & Facilities

You’ll be joining a large, collaborative veterinary team with 17 day vets and 5 dedicated night vets, supported by 24 RVNs and a wider team of clinical and support staff.

The hospital has multiple certificate holders across:

• ECC
• Internal Medicine
• Surgery
• Cardiology
• Imaging
• Exotics
• Oncology

There is also a visiting ophthalmologist every two weeks and an orthopaedic surgeon twice a week, giving you access to an impressive depth of knowledge and experience.

Salary & Benefits

Salary up to £60,000 depending on experience

The Location

The role is based in Brighton, East Sussex, offering an excellent combination of beautiful countryside and vibrant coastal living.

Lewes sits on the edge of the South Downs National Park, while Brighton is renowned for its seafront, independent culture, restaurants and lively atmosphere. The area also has excellent transport links, including direct trains to London in around an hour and easy access to Gatwick Airport.
