Veterinary Surgeon in Bristol, Independent 

Salary: £50,000–£70,000 DOE

4-day week • 39 hours • 1:4 weekends

The Opportunity

You’ll be a key part of the veterinary team, providing high-quality first-opinion care, delivering preventive services, and supporting pets and their owners with outstanding customer service. This role offers dedicated admin time, a healthy work-life balance, and flexibility where needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of clinical and surgical care

• Provide diagnostic workups, medical management and routine surgeries

• Offer excellent client communication and support

• Work collaboratively with the wider clinical and non-clinical team

• Promote pet wellbeing and proactive healthcare

Role & Rota

• Full-time, 39 hours per week

• 4-day working week with a consistent set day off

• 1:4 weekend rota

• 9-hour shifts with a mix of consults and surgery

• Dedicated 1-hour admin time built into each day

• Shift patterns include:

  • 8:00–17:30

  • 9:30–19:00

  • 10:30–20:00

• 15-minute consults

• Flexibility available—rota can be discussed to suit individual needs

Team & Facilities

• Supportive team of 5 vets and 6 RVNs, plus dedicated client care staff

• Modern, spacious, purpose-built premises

• 6 consult rooms, 2 theatres, imaging suite, dental suite

• On-site equipment includes: biochemistry, haematology, urinalysis, microscopy, X-ray, dental X-ray, ultrasound, orthopaedic kit, tonopen
