Independent Practice | Full or Part Time | Up to £1,500 CPD Budget + 33 Days Holiday

Looking for a genuinely supportive, independent practice where you can enjoy a varied caseload, pursue your interests, and work within a close-knit, collaborative team?

We’re working with a long-established independent small animal practice in Perthshire seeking a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly and progressive team. With over 75 years of independent ownership and strong links to XLVets, this practice combines traditional values with modern clinical standards and ongoing professional development.

Based on the outskirts of Perth, the location offers the perfect balance of countryside lifestyle and city access — with excellent transport links to Edinburgh and Glasgow.

The Role

This is a varied small animal position offering a genuine mix of:

• Consultations

• Medical work-ups

• Routine and more advanced surgery

• Emergency care

The team works hard to ensure each vet achieves a balance of consulting and operating that suits their strengths and interests. Support for certificates and specific clinical interests is actively encouraged.

Working pattern:

• 4-day week (8:30am–5:00pm)

• One late finish (6:30pm) per week

• 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (9:00am–12:30pm)

• Flexibility available for part-time or reduced hours

• Optional OOH (with time off in lieu)

About You

• RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon

• Minimum 1 year small animal experience

• Confident in general practice duties

• Strong communicator with clients and colleagues

• Enjoys working as part of a collaborative team

• Positive, proactive and keen to continue developing clinically
