Are you a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon looking for a varied role with the stability of a consistent rota? This is an exciting opportunity to split your time between two well-established branch practices in South London, offering a mix of consulting, surgery, supportive colleagues and excellent clinical backup from a nearby 24-hour hospital.
Perfect for a confident GP vet who enjoys working in different environments while building strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
The Role
You'll work across two established branch practices on a consistent weekly rota:
- Wednesdays at one South London branch
- Thursdays and Fridays at a second South London branch
- 1 in 4 Mondays at the first branch
- 1 in 4 Saturdays
- 1 in 10 Sundays
- Average of 36.7 hours per week, with flexibility to increase to 40 hours or finish early once per week if preferred
- No on-call requirements
Working alongside experienced nursing and support teams, you'll provide continuity of care for clients and their pets while enjoying the variety of two different practice environments.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality consultations and preventative healthcare
- Performing routine surgical procedures within your competency
- Maintaining accurate clinical records and treatment plans
- Prescribing and dispensing medications in line with RCVS guidance
- Referring complex cases appropriately to the nearby veterinary hospital
- Supporting a collaborative and positive team culture
- Working closely with the Registered Veterinary Nurse to help maintain smooth day-to-day branch operations
- Managing consulting, surgical and diagnostic diaries effectively
You'll have full clinical support from the group's nearby 24-hour hospital, providing access to advanced facilities, specialist colleagues and comprehensive out-of-hours care whenever required.
About You
We're looking for a Veterinary Surgeon who:
- Is confident with routine GP consultations and surgery
- Enjoys delivering excellent clinical and client care
- Is comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider team
- Values building lasting relationships with clients and colleagues
- Has a proactive and collaborative approach
You'll also benefit from ongoing support from an experienced Regional Head Vet, Regional Manager and the wider clinical team, ensuring help is always available when needed.
