The Margate hospital is a highly collaborative working environment, with a team that values case discussion, shared learning and varied clinical interests. Facilities include separate dog and cat kennelling, in-house radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, piped gases and extensive orthopaedic equipment.
About the Role
This is a full-time, permanent position working 40 hours per week, with flexible working options available.
As Veterinary Surgeon Team Leader, you’ll hold clinical governance responsibility for the hospital and lead the veterinary surgeon team — combining hands-on clinical work with leadership, mentorship and team development. The caseload is surgically biased, with a pragmatic, evidence-based approach to medicine at its core.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the veterinary surgeon team and overseeing clinical governance
- Managing a surgically biased caseload with a medical, pragmatic approach
- Recruitment, coaching and development of the veterinary team
- Communicating clearly and compassionately with a wide range of clients
- Sharing skills and leading by example to develop others across clinical practice
- Contributing to continuous improvement and new ways of working
What They’re Looking For
They are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon with more than 3 years post-qualification experience who enjoys surgical work and is confident taking on full team leadership responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, a natural mentor, and someone who is genuinely motivated by the purpose behind the work.
