Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon – Veterinary Hospital | Cheshire | 12-Month FTC

Looking for an exciting opportunity within a well-equipped veterinary hospital? We're recruiting a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a thriving, multi-site veterinary group in Cheshire on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a Tier 3 veterinary hospital, alongside an experienced in-house referral team, managing a varied caseload while delivering exceptional patient care.

The Role

This is a full-time hospital-based position, primarily focused on caring for inpatients within a busy referral and first-opinion environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Average 40 hours per week
  • Salary of £62,000 – £65,000 DOE
  • Mixture of day shifts (7:30am – 5:30pm) and twilight shifts (4:00pm – midnight)
  • Weekend rota with time off in lieu
  • Hospital-based role with a strong focus on inpatient care
  • Occasional sole charge responsibilities
  • Managing a varied and interesting medical and surgical caseload
  • Working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary veterinary team

You'll be working in a modern Tier 3 Veterinary Hospital equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical facilities, including:

  • CT scanner
  • Doppler echocardiography
  • Flexible and rigid endoscopy
  • Digital radiography
  • Ultrasound
  • Dental radiography
  • Laparoscopy
  • Electrocautery
  • Advanced anaesthesia equipment

About You

We're looking for an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys working in a collaborative hospital environment.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in small animal practice
  • Confidence with occasional sole charge
