GVC is assisting a friendly, locally owned small animal practice in the search for a confident and personable Veterinary Surgeon to join their supportive team. This role offers a balance of consulting and surgical duties, flexible working hours, and a genuinely collaborative environment.

As a training practice, it performs a wide range of orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeries and manages a varied caseload. Team Structure
The successful candidate will join a close-knit team comprising:

3 Veterinary Surgeons

4 Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs)

2 Student Veterinary Nurses (SVNs)

1 Practice Manager

4 Receptionists
The team is highly skilled, supportive, and welcoming, ensuring a positive working environment and excellent patient care.
Role and Responsibilities

Mix of consultations and surgery with consults allocated 15 minutes standard

Flexible rota between 20–40 hours per week, including school-hour options

Weekend commitment: 1 in 3 Saturdays, no Sundays and no out-of-hours work

Well-organized diary allowing time for breaks, admin, and case discussions

Candidate Requirements

Experienced Veterinary Surgeon with strong GP skills

Confident in both routine consultations and surgical procedures
