As Global Veterinary Careers continues to grow its international footprint, our expansion into the United States marks an important new chapter – and it starts in Dallas, Texas.

We’re delighted to welcome Sue Reid as a founding member of the GVC Dallas team, where she will play a pivotal role in establishing our US presence and shaping how we support veterinary professionals and practices across North America.

A Strategic Hire for a Growing Market#

Sue is a veteran, people-focused sales leader and commercial builder, bringing decades of experience across pharma, biotech, staffing and recruitment. Earlier in her career, she led multimillion-dollar sales teams for both global corporates and high-growth startups, gaining deep experience in building teams, developing sales playbooks and scaling operations sustainably.

Over time, Sue channelled that commercial and leadership expertise into recruiting and staffing across human and veterinary health, where she found a natural alignment between performance, purpose and people.

“I’ve spent my career building teams, developing talent and helping organisations grow,” Sue explains. “This role brings all of that together – leadership, recruitment and the chance to build something meaningful in the veterinary space.”

Why Dallas? Why Texas?#

GVC’s decision to establish its US headquarters in Dallas was both strategic and intentional.

Texas offers access to a rapidly growing veterinary market, strong regional connectivity and a culture that values both innovation and relationships – an ethos that closely mirrors GVC’s own.

The Texas mindset of ‘everything’s bigger and better’ fits perfectly with GVC’s day-one ambitions. Dallas is where innovation and tradition intersect – bringing fresh ideas to the market while staying grounded in strong values, ethics and genuine human connection.

From Dallas, the team will initially focus on supporting the South Central US market, with a phased growth plan that prioritises quality, relationships and long-term impact over rapid scale.

Building the US the Right Way#

Rather than rushing expansion, our US approach is deliberately measured and built for longevity. The Dallas office will begin with a small, focused founding team, with plans to grow in stages as relationships with veterinarians, clinics and partners develop.

“This is about building the US presence properly,” Sue explains. “We’re setting strong foundations, and growing in line with real demand and meaningful partnerships.”

Initially, the focus will be on locum and contract veterinary roles, with pathways to longer-term and permanent opportunities as the market develops.

A Human-First Approach to Veterinary Recruitment#

Beyond her commercial experience, Sue brings a deeply personal connection to the veterinary world.

A passionate advocate for rescue animals, she and her husband are proud two-time foster failures, now sharing their home with four pitbull-mix rescue dogs. It’s a passion that shapes how she approaches the industry: with empathy, authenticity and respect for the people doing the work on the ground.

“Working in the veterinary space feels personal to me,” she says. “It’s about supporting the people who care for animals every day, and building trust through genuine relationships.”

Life Outside of Work#

When she’s not building teams or connecting with the veterinary community, Sue enjoys spending time with family and friends, supporting local initiatives and travelling – with Belize topping her list of favourite destinations.

She’s also a committed endurance athlete – having completed two full marathons and three triathlons – and a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, often found passionately cheering (or yelling) on game days.

Looking Ahead#

With the Dallas office now officially open, GVC is on the ground in Texas and ready to support veterinarians, nurses, technicians and practices across the US.

Over the coming months, Sue and the team will focus on:

  • Building strong relationships across the US veterinary community
  • Supporting locum, contract and long-term career pathways
  • Growing a values-led US team rooted in Dallas
