WORKING OVERSEAS
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a federation of seven emirates located in the southeast of the Arabian Peninsula, bordering Saudi Arabia and Oman. The country has a population of approximately 9.9 million people, of which around 12% are UAE nationals.
To work as a veterinarian or veterinary nurse in the UAE, you must be licensed by the United Arab Emirates, Ministry of Climate Change & Environment (MOCCAE). The licensing process involves submitting an application, providing proof of qualifications, and passing an exam. The exam includes multiple-choice questions on veterinary science and animal health, as well as an oral exam to assess the candidate’s communication skills.
In addition to licensing, veterinarians must also obtain a residency visa and work permit. The employer usually sponsors these documents.
